See My Art Annual Gala Event is June 13 in Cable
Cable, WI A celebration of arts and community is planned for the 10th Annual See My Art (SMART) Gala on Thursday, June 13 at the Rivers Eatery in the Ideal Market Commons in Cable. The gathering of SMART artists, volunteers, sponsors and supporters will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The annual gathering will feature SMART artist’s original creations, live music, a coloring or craft activity, food and fun! Please join us to help celebrate the community of people with unique abilities to creatively express themselves.
The event is free and open to the public. Gala sponsors Rivers Eatery & Tilly’s Pies will be open for lunch that day as well. In support of the SMART mission and vision, the Rivers Eatery has offered to donate the net proceeds from Gala participant lunches.
Headlining the annual event, the Ukeladies and Lads will perform. Their popular lively sing along renditions of familiar favorites is sure to set the tone for a joyous gathering for all in attendance.
During the Gala, guest speakers, SMART artist Jessica Parkkonen and Doctor Dayle Quigley will speak about the impacts of opioid addiction on individuals and families in our communities and long term intervention and care.
See My Art, Inc. (SMART) is a not-for-profit corporation that inspires, empowers, validates, and supports people with disabilities through the arts. SMART Gala attendees will have the opportunity to support See My Art, Inc during their annual membership drive. As a special promotion during the SMART Gala, each day of membership applicant will receive a SMART artist coloring book, vinyl decal and bracelet as a benefit for joining the organization.
Sponsors of the annual gathering include the Rivers Eatery, Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival, Cable Lions Club and Norvado.
With a vision of: Opening doors and minds through art for those with disabilities, the See My Art mission is focused on: Using art to empower and inspire. Through its educational programs and mentoring activities SMART artists are provided avenues for personal expression, social empowerment and independence within our communities.
